Best Beaches On The UK's South Coast

Just to the left of Poole is Swanage, which is a quaint little beach that is surrounded by cliffs and hills. The beach is an ideal place for swimmers and people who like to participate in water sports. Yes Swanage is a small city with the waterfront common amusements offered.

For the hip and cool look beyond Brighton - sometimes called London in the sea. This bustling seaside town has everything you could want and more when it comes to taking a break by the sea. Brighton makes the perfect destination if you want to combine a little beach with a bit of shopping or nightlife or all three! The long beach, boardwalk, pier and of course the famous Brighton Pavilion make this a great place to visit to enjoy the traditional British seaside, but the vibrant city of Brighton offers a thoroughly modern feel to it too.

Lulworth Cove in Dorset is a virgin site UNESCO World Heritage Site and it is impossible not to admire the perfectly formed horseshoe cove here. Not a traditional sandy beach or a beach resort to visit if you like walking and scenic landscapes. The cove is located between cliffs so it is a good walk to the beach which is pebbly and is not suitable for swimmers.
