Different types of Beaches in Queensland

Queensland's beaches rank right up the top with the best beaches in the world, with visitors flocking from every direction to enjoy the long white coastal stretches and shimmering waters. From Coolangatta through to Daintree in the far north, you are guaranteed a taste of paradise. The ideal choice of travel is by campervan, as you have the freedom and flexibility to stop as long as the waves are rolling and the sky is blue. There are plenty of caravan parks dotted up and down the Queensland coast, ideal to be used as a base to swim and explore.
Growing up in Queensland, I spent most of my holidays on the Gold Coast, and today's favorite tourist beaches were my playground. Coolangatta, located about half an hour from Surfers Paradise, has an esplanade perfect for small children to paddle, and is also a popular meeting place for surfers. Further up is beautiful Burleigh beach, known for its pine trees lining the sand. Although a lot more populated than all those years ago, this is still one of the premier beach locations on the coast.
Nobbys and Main beaches are long and inviting. There is plenty of space for families, surfers and sunbathers. Sunrise is one of the favorite times to enjoy the salt air and meet the early morning walkers, populating the shoreline up and down the coastline. Surfers Paradise is the most famous and known as the tourist strip for obvious reasons. The beaches are fantastic and excellent for surfing, but I would stick to the local beaches just to get some towel space.
The Sunshine Coast beaches have a more relaxed pace, Maroochydore being my favorite. With excellent surfing beaches, ideal caravan parks (Cotton Tree is one of the best) and large shopping centers you could spend weeks here and always have something to do. Alexandra Headland is one of the most popular locations for surfers, with breaks to be found along most of the coastline.
Noosa Heads is one of the most well known destinations on the north coast, with an abundance of holiday choices. There are four beaches, the most popular at Hastings Point for swimming and surfing. Tea Tree and Granite Bay are more suitable for experienced surfers. From Hastings there are some easy beach walks taking you around the headland to a lovely beach alcove. The beach is the heart of Noosa and every walk seems to wind back to its sandy stretches.
Once you start the trek up to Cairns and beyond, you need to plan your itinerary and then take the plunge as there are a lot of miles in between. However, the rewards are priceless, with exquisite pure white beaches waiting for you. Close to three hours from Brisbane, Fraser Island is the world's largest sand island, with the equally beautiful Rainbow Beach a complete destination in itself. The advantage is that crowds are smaller and the beaches are endless, the perfect place to escape.
Halfway between Cairns and Townsville is an undiscovered paradise, Mission Beach. There are not many places where the sun shines every day of the year (well almost) and the rainforest meets the sand and coconut palms. Combined with the pristine, flat beach and rippling waves you have the ideal tropical holiday.
The beaches just north from Cairns are unique and unparalleled. The most famous is Palm Cove, offering something for every type of beach holiday maker. There is a long jetty for fishermen, plenty of water sports, tall palm trees lining the entire stretch of beach and a number of restaurants and shops when you need a break from the sun. Surfers may have to venture elsewhere, such as Yorkey's Knob where half meter waves are delivered which still a bonus for this region.
Trinity Beach is another favorite with locals and tourists and easily accessible from Cairns via the Captain Cook highway. The Cairns esplanade now features a large lagoon ideal for families, and a great retreat for those who would prefer to base themselves close to the city.
Heading further north to Port Douglas, Four Mile Beach is one of the last of Queensland's jewels. This is remote and beautiful, with the palms common to this area combine to create the perfect holiday destination. Although this area
is common to stingers there are nets in place so you can still enjoy a swim.
Whichever location you choose, you will have to keep coming back to make the most of the sun, surf and sand in Queensland greatest treasures, its beaches.

Different types of Tips for Beach Metal Detecting

As a form of metal detecting, beach metal detecting has grown immensely in popularity over recent years. Not only is it a fun, healthy, outdoor activity but with more and more people on public beaches these days it can be profitable as well.
Here are some basic tips to help you enjoy and profit from detecting on the beach and sand:
1. While all-round detectors have led good finds, to be really successful in beach metal detecting you need a specialized detector. Using normal metal detectors make it more difficult to find valuable targets in a sandy, wet environment.
If beach metal detecting is/is going to be your main focus in metal detecting then acquiring a purposed designed detector will make your hobby more enjoyable and profitable.
2. Beach metal detectors do the same job as other metal detectors ie. Detect metal, but with one significant difference.
They are designed to work in and around water, particularly salty water. Because of the electrolytic substances in salt water, normal metal detectors sometimes are thrown off the signal.
The regular metal detector operating in a salt water environment may not give true readings for metallic and nonmetallic elements.
You can set your beach detector to basically ignore metal-like substances and focus on looking for true metal objects.
3. When beach metal detecting you are normally looking for coins, watches, earrings, rings and other types of jewelry etc. These types of items are what people tend to lose most often on their day out to the beach.
4. The best time to scan the beach is near the end of the day when the bulk of the crowd has gone home.
It is best if you can detect the beach before there has been a major shift in the tide, before the waves buries the lost items any further or washes them away, making them harder to find. Even so, anywhere between the low and high tide water mark you can still make some valuable metal detecting finds.

How can you play woman’s volleyball?

The sport of women's beach volleyball is more than just fun in the sun on the sandy beaches of the American coastline. It may have started out that way, but over the last twenty years, the game has grown into a full-blown sport that is now a Summer Olympic sport. A hybrid of indoor volleyball, beach volleyball - especially on a competitive level - is only played with two people instead of a team of six. The rules are little different and they include some interesting hand signals to help the players. Here we will take a look at women's beach volleyball and how it has grown into such a popular sport.
Santa Monica, California is the home of beach volleyball. It started in the 1920s and quickly spread to Europe. By the 1960s the first professional beach volleyball league was attempted. It failed in the United States, but was a success in France where the first professional tournament was held. In 1960 the first organized American tournament was held on Manhattan Beach in Southern California. It was a huge success, getting touted as the 'Wimbledon of Beach Volleyball'. Within ten years, professional tournaments in Santa Monica found sponsors in beer and cigarette companies.
Players continued to hone their volleyball skills and the game became extremely popular in the 1980s. International beach volleyball tournaments became more and more commonplace with the United States, Brazil, and Australia becoming the three heavyweight nations of the sports. European countries and China became interested in this summer sport, one that became extremely popular among the women in the world. The 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona exhibited the sport and it became an official sport of the Olympics in 1996. The women's beach volleyball events have garnered gold medals once for each of the three heavyweight countries since.
The basic volleyball rules that govern women's beach volleyball are very similar to those used in standard indoor volleyball. The two man team in beach volleyball must score a point by forcing the ball to ground on the opponent's court. They can also score a point when the opposing team commits a fault - an error or illegal action. The ball can only be touched three times before it must cross the net and the contact must be made consecutively by the two players. The game is played on a sandy surface instead of a hard court that is slightly smaller than an indoor court. There are other minor differences between the two games and the beach volleyball is actually a bit larger and softer than the standard indoor ball. Also, players play in their bare feet.
Volleyball drills are important for players of beach volleyball as some of the minor differences have more to do with how the ball is volleyed across the net. Players of women's beach also use hand signals behind their backs to help their partner on the court know what type of play they intend to make once the ball is served. These hand signals can be given with one or both hands and when used wisely, they can make all the difference in the world to the outcome of a women's beach volleyball match.

Why you go for a beach club

If you want to have a vacation like none other, you need to go to a beach club resort. The reason that they are so much better than your standard hotel is because they combine the relaxing aspects of the best vacations while providing you with a chance to meet and have fun with people of all ages and backgrounds. You can choose to do both or do either, and having the option makes a huge difference. The best part is the fact that they are quite a bit cheaper than the standard hotel.
You're probably thinking that if staying at a beach club resort is so much cheaper what is the catch? There really is no catch. The room will not be quite as fancy as it would be if you were staying at a standard resort, but there is no reason for them to be. You will be spending the most amount of time on the beach, hanging out with people, and doing activities. When you retreat to your room for sleep, you won't be thinking about the fact that it is slightly smaller than it could have been.
What if you want to just go on a romantic getaway with that special someone in your life? Is it worth it to go to a beach club? The answer is yes, because you have the option of just doing activities by yourself and relaxing on secluded beaches. You will just end up paying less because the resorts are more affordable. The whole time though, you will have the option to talk to other couples, hang out with people, and just have a good time. Still though, you will never feel like you are surrounded by too many people to get some peace and quiet, as most of the people hang out at specific areas away from the rooms.
If you have ever been on a vacation to a nice beach area like San Diego, Hawaii, or South Florida, then you know how awesome of a time you can have. Of course, staying at a beach club resort is unlike any other experience you will have at a regular hotel, and it is considerably less money. There are even packages that include airfare, food, and activities like golf, massages, horseback riding, hiking, water sports, and more. Plus, when you book your stay before the summer months start to roll around, you will save quite a bit more.

How can you make your Beach theme Bedroom?

Using accessories is a fun way to accent your bedroom for a beach theme. You will find that you can dramatically change the look of your room simply by making small changes with the accents. See how easy it is to get a designer beach theme look in your bedroom without shelling out the big bucks.
If you're not sure exactly what you want in your beach design, try looking in decorating magazines and books to get a flavor of the accessories you would like to see in your bedroom. For keeping the beach look consistent, you'll have to limit yourself to only purchase the accessories that match your theme.
Colors for a beach décor should make you think of the beach. Light and breezy with lots of blues and maybe even some yellows. If you prefer neutral tones think of the beige of beach sand and the color of shells.
Incorporate sea shells, ocean prints, and other seaside accents that will help bring out the beach in your bedroom. You should group your accessories in odd numbers. It always looks nice if your groupings consist of tall and short accessories mixed together. An interesting group of accents might consist of some shells aside a nice beach theme frame and a taller lamp.
Use beach theme prints and photos on your walls to establish the theme throughout your bedroom. Many people do not know how to correctly hang a piece of art and this makes a big difference to the visual appeal. Whether you are hanging a large oil painting or a small print, the middle of the piece should be at eye level. If you have a large piece of artwork you can try using it as a headboard. When accessorizing your bedroom don't forget about the lighting. When purchasing lamps make sure to buy ones that go with the beach theme you want to create. For beach style lighting try using clear glass lamps filled with shells or figural light house shaped lamps.
Area rugs can define a space and pull your bedroom together. Rest furniture complete on the rug for a warmer effect. Only use rugs that go with your beach accessories.
Using pillows can add interest as well. Use several at the top of the bed and vary the texture colors and patterns while still keeping the color and theme within your overall bedroom design.
Don't think you have to buy everything for your bedroom at once. Shop around to find the perfect accessories to match the beach theme in your bedroom. You can find bargains at consignment stores flea markets and yard sales.
